Tap is a form of dance in which the feet create rhythmic sounds.   Students will learn to develop coordination, speed, rhythm of sounds and musicality. 

Jazz is a rhythmic stylized dance form that emerged at the turn of the 20th century.  This ever-evolving genre boasts high energy, flash steps, personality, and technique, while stretching its roots to create sub-genres including pop, hip-hop, contemporary jazz, and jazz funk.  Students will learn to build endurance, strength and flexibility, in addition to body isolations, precision of movement and floorwork.   

Ballet is a classical form of dance with specifically systemized terminology, technique, and choreography.  Lyrical is an expressive form of dance melding the techniques of Ballet, Jazz and Modern dance styles.  The quality of movement parallels the quality of music.  Often choreographed to lyrics, though not required, Lyrical holds a fluid quality while also playing upon dynamics and accents of the music to convey emotions and tell a story to one’s audience. Students will learn poise, grace, and technique of classical ballet, while simultaneously exploring their own fluidity, flexibility, and dynamic depths. 

Hip-hop is a style of dance that incorporates street dance, redefining many of the early native jazz dances and movements.  Strong African dance influence can be seen throughout the varying styles of hip-hop, which are generally categorized into Old School and New School.   Students will learn techniques in popping and locking, while also developing strength and agility.
